The Faculty of Civil Engineering is the higher-education institution that has existed in continuity since 1949. Besides its fundamental role in the education of future engineers the faculty also engages in the scientific-research field, and has the expertise to carry out projects in the demanding fields of civil engineering and geodesy. Professors and the faculty carry out all their expert and specialized work, as well as scientific research in the framework of the below listed Departments that comprise the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Sarajevo:

• CONSTRUCTIONS
• GEODESY
• TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING
• WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING

All the above Departments and accompanied Institutes are functional units of the Faculty and, only as such, (individually or as a group comprising all or a number of these institutes), do they compete on the market. The Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics is a public institution that organizes and carries out scientific and highly professional work in the scientific field of geodesy, photogrammetry, remote sensing, cartography, surveying and geoinformatics.

Key Personnel Involved

Dr. sc. Admir Mulahusic received his diploma as Surveying Engineer, Dipl-Eng. in 1993 from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Sarajevo. In 2006 he received his MSc diploma in the field of Geodesy. In 2010, he received his PhD in the area of Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry from the same University. From 2004 until 2010 he was a Head of the Institute of geodesy and geoinformatics at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Currently he is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (University of Sarajevo) and a Head of geodesy department. He is a member of following professional associations:

• Commission of Geodesy and Geophysics of the Academy of Arts and Sciences of Bosnia and Herzegovina (24.06.2003. – present).
• International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). Member of National Committee for the Bosnia and Herzegovina (Adhering Organization Academy of Sciences & Arts of Bosnia & Herzegovina) (2004 – present).
• Alliance of surveying professional associations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Role: President (from 2004. – 2007. – member of Presidency; from 2007. – present - President).
• Surveyors Association of Sarajevo Canton Role: Member of presidency (from 25.01.2003. – present).

He is an author or co-author of: 1 book, translation of 1 book, 9 scientific publications for journals and conference proceedings and 2 posters at the EGU General Assembly in 2008.

Mr. sc. Nedim Tuno received his diploma as Surveying Engineer, Dipl-Eng. in 2002 from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Sarajevo. In 2010 he received his MSc diploma in the field of Geodesy. Currently he is an Assistant at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (University of Sarajevo). He is a member of following professional associations:

• Alliance of surveying professional associations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
• Surveyors Association of Sarajevo Canton

He is an author or co-author of: 7 scientific publications for journals and conference proceedings and 2 posters at the EGU General Assembly in 2008.
