You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) was one of the first companyes devoted to applied remote sensing and GIS technologies to be established in Balkan countries. «GEOSAT» Croatia is a member of international Group of companies specialized in Environmental Information Systems, Earth Observation and Resource Management (Headoffice is in Wageningen, The Netherlands). Since GEOSAT foundation in 1992, it offering advanced high quality services in: Environmental monitoring and management, Natural resources inventories, Geology and mineral exploration. Agriculture-soil mapping and forestry, Ground water exploration, Geohazard mapping and monitoring (seismotectonic-earthquakes investigations), Terrain evaluation in general etc.

GEOSAT applied modern Geoinformation methods (remote sensing and GIS ) in conection with terrain data collection. GEOSAT is a member, among others, of Scientific Council of Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, an

European Association of Remote Sensing Laboratories (EARSeL).

GEOSAT with Croatian Academy was Organizer of 24th EARSeL Symposium in Dubrovnik 2004. GEOSAT, also was organizer, with Croatian Academy and Zadar University of: First International Conference on Remote Sensing Techniques in «Disaster Management and Emergency Response in the Mediterranian Region» in Zadar-Croatia 2008.

Member of the several domestic and international associations.

Project manager and principal investigator of several domestic and international projects. Author of more then 120 scientific and professional publications (about 40 presentations on international and domestic congresses/symposiums). Author of 5 books, mostly in the field of geoinformations: remoete sensing and GIS (e.g. textbook 516 pp.)

Zdravko Spiric received his Ph.D in Technical Sciences, scientific field Chemical Engineering at University of Zagreb, Croatia. He is currently the scientific director of OIKON - Ltd. Institute for Applied Ecology www.oikon.hr, Zagreb, and Assistant professor at Medical school Rijeka, Croatia.

As Croatian scientist in charge he is involved in the: EU FP6 integrated project PHIME; the UNECE ICP Vegetation; Eureka E! 3266 EUROENVIRON webair; FP7-TPT-2008-RTD-1 REACT; three NATO ARW projects; etc.

He is registered in the EU Commission database – and active as an expert/evaluator since 2002. He is author or co-author of more than 250 professional papers published in professional magazines and scientific journals and has presented at numerous international conferences.
